House

A house is a type of building where people live. It can be a single-family home, an apartment, or a large estate. Houses may also be used to refer to a nation’s legislature or political structure. Houses may be built on a foundation or framed and anchored on concrete slabs. Many modern houses are based on architectural styles, such as Greek Revival, Tudor, and Georgian. Houses may be constructed from wood, brick, stone, or other materials. Some modern houses are designed to be energy efficient.

The term “house” can also be used to refer to a place of business, a hotel, or an office building. In the United States, houses are referred to in square footage or cubic meters, while in other countries, they are referred to in square yards or square metres. The size of a house can vary, but typically includes rooms for sleeping, cooking, and cleaning. Houses may also have bathrooms and recreation areas.

People often build houses to meet their specific needs. For example, people who are planning to have children might want to build a large house with plenty of bedrooms. Those who wish to run a business from home might want to build an office that is separate from their living space. In addition, some people may choose to build a house that is reminiscent of their favorite period in history or culture.

One of the most important steps in the process of designing a house is nailing down the housing concept. Without a clear vision, you could end up with a home that is impractical or over-budget. To avoid this, begin by writing down your must-have features and determining the size of your budget. Then, learn about the lot on which your future house will be built. Review the property’s plat map and study the zoning laws and regulations. If possible, consult with a licensed architect to see how your design plans will meet local building requirements.

House is an American television medical drama that ran for ten seasons on Fox from September 14, 2007 to May 21, 2015. The series was created and written by Paul Attanasio, Katie Jacobs, and Lawrence Kaplow. It was produced by Heel and Toe Films, Shore Z Productions, and Bad Hat Harry Productions in association with Universal Television. It was distributed internationally by Fox International Television.

In the series, House (played by Hugh Laurie) is a diagnostician who works at the fictional Seattle-based private practice House Associates. He is frequently at odds with his colleagues, especially Dean of Medicine Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein). House is also attracted to his colleague and ally, fellow doctor Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), although their relationship is complex because of House’s Vicodin addiction and hallucinations.

While most of the episodes focus on House’s battle with a particular illness, the show also has several subplots. A significant subplot involves Cuddy and her struggle to balance her professional and personal lives, particularly the strain on her marriage with fellow doctor Foreman (Paul Giamatti). Throughout the season, there are also numerous sexual innuendoes between House and Cuddy, which culminate in the fifth-season finale in which the pair kiss for the first time.
