What Is a Play House?
Play House is a 383-seat proscenium-thrust theatre equipped with dual level pit, full fly space and advanced lighting and sound systems. It is also home to a myriad of offices, classrooms and rehearsal spaces. The theatre serves as the hub of much activity in the building, from planning and practice to staging setups and lighting run-throughs.
Despite its name, the Play House is more than just a place to play; it is also a powerful symbol of community and family. This project aims to honor the many stories of the house and its role in our lives, as well as to bring people together who may not know each other or have similar experiences.
One of the most common uses for House Rules is to fix issues with a game that aren’t necessarily mechanical or even gameplay related. These issues often arise when a group plays a game with a different set of players or just with themselves over time and they don’t like certain mechanics or aspects of the game. This can be especially true in RPGs but it can happen with board games as well. These types of House Rules are usually fairly innocuous but can be annoying to other groups of players.
Other times a House Rule is intentional and designed to make the game more fun or balanced for a particular group of people. This is most common in tabletop RPGs but can happen with board and card games as well. The most important thing to remember when creating a House Rule is that it must fit in with the overall tone and feel of the game and shouldn’t completely change the way that the game is played. This can be a difficult task but is essential in order to create a successful house rule.
While most of these rules will be minor in nature, some can be quite severe and should be taken very seriously. For example, a rule that changes who is allowed to win in a particular scenario can have serious consequences and should be carefully considered before it is implemented. Another example would be a house rule that adds an additional point to a particular category in a game, as this could easily alter the balance of the game and affect the outcome.
